We are so excited! It has been more than three years since we have had the opportunity to host families at our St. Pius Youth Center as part of the Family Promise Program. As we get ready to host families on October 22 -28, we are hosting a gathering on Sunday, September 10 at 9:45 a.m. in our St. Pius X Fellowship Hall for our current volunteers and anyone interested in getting involved. Bring a friend!
Family Promise is a community of Billings faith-based congregations and over 1,400 volunteers who put their faith into action to provide meals, shelter, and a safe, non-judgmental environment for families experiencing homelessness. We are looking for volunteers to provide meals and serve as hosts.
We will be joined by Lisa Donnot, Executive Director of Family Promise, and our current Family Promise volunteers to reconnect and share about why this ministry is so important to our community. This is a mandatory meeting for those interested in volunteering. We are now required to have all volunteers (new and old) who will be around our guest families to fill out a simple volunteer application. We will have applications on hand, our volunteer schedule for October, and will be happy to answer any questions.
“Volunteering with our Family Promise ministry at St. Pius has been so impactful for me and my family. Sharing a meal and hosting our guests is a humbling and rewarding experience.” – Mike Paquette, Parish Member
